Frequently asked questions
Confirm MashON is installed and updated, then tap the original https://mashon.link invitation from Messages or Mail. If you are already browsing mashon.link in Safari, iOS may keep same-domain links in the browser by design; use the “Open invitation” button on the page. Reinstalling an updated build can also refresh Apple’s domain association.
Tap a MashON join link or open Join a Mash in the app and enter the eight-character Mash code. You need a signed-in MashON account and rider profile. The Mash must still be active.
A private challenge link can be claimed once. A public challenge remains available until its creator stops it, and finished riders can appear on its fastest-time leaderboard. Treat private challenge links like passwords.
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled, the sensor is awake, and the relevant Health permissions are allowed. Wear Apple Watch securely and start the MashON ride from iPhone. Some metrics require compatible cycling sensors or hardware.
No. During a live group Mash, precise current positions are sent temporarily to authenticated participants in that Mash and are not written into MashON’s durable activity database. Shared route files are a separate feature and are stored privately when you choose to upload them.
After a recorded ride, use the Strava action on the ride summary and authorize only the requested upload permission. To disconnect, use MashON’s Strava controls and review connected applications in your Strava account.
Personal Ghost Mashes can be available without an account. Live group Mashes, profiles, friend challenges, and cloud sharing require an account so access can be authenticated.
For a privacy request, email privacy@mashon.link. To report a suspected security issue, email security@mashon.link with a concise description and no live credentials, passwords, or private invitation tokens.
