How do I calculate pace?
Pace is time divided by distance. A 5 km run in 25 minutes has a pace of 5:00 per kilometer. Lower time per unit means faster pace.
MashON useful tools
Use this free pace calculator for running or walking. Choose the value you need, enter the other two, and calculate an even-pace plan.
Enter distance and timing in your selected unit. Switching units changes the input labels; it does not convert your entered numbers.
Your inputs are calculated on this device. This tool does not upload or save them.
Pace is time divided by distance. A 5 km run in 25 minutes has a pace of 5:00 per kilometer. Lower time per unit means faster pace.
Finish time is distance multiplied by pace. At 6:00 per kilometer, 10 km takes 60 minutes. This assumes a constant pace with no extra stops.
Distance is total time divided by pace. Walking for 30 minutes at 10:00 per kilometer covers 3 km. Keep time and pace in the same time units.
Choose kilometers for min/km or miles for min/mi. For example, 3 miles at 10:00 per mile takes 30 minutes. Input numbers must be entered in the selected unit.
The calculator assumes even pace. Hills, weather, stops, terrain, and fatigue can change your real finish time. Rounded display values are for planning, not performance guarantees or medical advice.
MashON includes a pace and finish-time planner in Useful Tools on iPhone. Use the app to plan an activity, then compare a recorded route in a Ghost Mash.
MashON is available for iPhone and Apple Watch.
